We have seven members of the team who may work on your matter. Regardless of who works on your matter, they will be supervised by Susan Houghton, Partner and Head of Conveyancing.
Susan Houghton – Partner
Sue is the head of our team and has over 25 years’ experience in residential and commercial conveyancing. Sue has been working in this area since she qualified and has helped thousands of families and individuals.
Sue qualified as a solicitor in 1994 after obtaining a degree in English and French Law, completing the Solicitors’’ Final Examination at the College of Law in London and completing her training contract at Houghton Pigot & Co where she has worked since 1991. She became a partner in 1998.
Frances Lawlor – Partner
Frances has over 35 years’ experience in residential and commercial conveyancing. Frances has been working in this area since she qualified and she too has helped thousands of families and individuals.
Frances qualified as a solicitor in 1984 after obtaining a degree in Law, completing the Solicitors’’ Final Examination at the College of Law in Chester and completing her training contract at our predecessor firm Ackerley Heaton and Pigot. Frances was one of the founding partners of the firm Houghton Pigot & Co.
Jennifer Haigh – Conveyancing Executive
Jennifer joined our predecessor firm Ackerley Heaton and Pigot in 1976 and has worked for the firm since then. She has over 50 years’ experience in residential conveyancing. She is based at our Ashton-in-Makerfield office and over her many years of experience has helped thousands of people from Ashton and beyond to move house.
Julie Lacey – Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary
Julie has worked in residential conveyancing since 1994 and joined Houghton Pigot & Co in 2010. Julie works as Sue Houghton’s secretary and is the first point of contact for many residential conveyancing clients, using her many years of experience to help guide them through the conveyancing process.
Carolyn Cunliffe – Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary
Carolyn has worked in residential conveyancing since 1990. She previously worked as a Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary at Alker and Ball Solicitors before joining the team at Houghton Pigot & Co in 2014. Carolyn works as Frances Lawlor’s secretary and is the first point of contact for many residential conveyancing clients, using her many years of experience to help guide them through the conveyancing process.
Karen Smith Reid – Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary
Karen has worked in residential conveyancing since 1992. She previously worked as a Conveyancing Assistant/Secretary at Heyman and Co Solicitors in Leigh before joining the team at Houghton Pigot & Co in 2015. Karen assists both Frances Lawlor and Sue Houghton, and is the first point of contact for many residential conveyancing clients, using her many years of experience to help guide them through the conveyancing process.
